Trading & Risk Management Customers
IT OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
Financial institutions must ensure that IT operations remain aligned with the overall business strategy. For the IT Operations Managers, this means balancing the priorities of the market with those of individual departments.
Kondor+ is a high performance trading and risk management platform, capable of supporting front, middle and back office users. Reliable and highly scalable, Kondor+ is as relevant in small implementations, with only one or two users, as it is in global deployments across multiple sites.
KEY CHALLENGES IN IT OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
REDUCE SYSTEMS COST AND COMPLEXITY
Complex networks of IT systems, the legacy of acquisitions, or decentralised procurement to support individual asset classes, lines of business or regions, have created fragmented trading and risk management architectures. The inability of these systems to integrate seamlessly acts as a barrier to increased operating efficiency while their diversity means higher ongoing maintenance costs.
SUPPORT THE BUSINESS
Disparate and disconnected systems mean it is harder to provide consistent global valuations and timely reporting across all business areas
ENABLE HIGH VOLUME TRADING
With the increasing focus on high volume and low margin trading, process automation is essential to drive down the cost per trade.
The co-existence of multiple fragmented systems means that it is often difficult to achieve the desired high-volume, low-value transaction model.
KONDOR+: KEY BENEFITS FOR IT OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
MODERN, FLEXIBLE ARCHITECTURE
Kondor+ has a modern, N-tier, service-oriented architecture that provides greater flexibility and openness. With Kondor+, banks can consolidate disparate trading systems onto a single and flexible platform, reducing total cost of ownership (TCO). This means that banks are able to increase transparency and are much better placed to respond rapidly to new revenue generating activities.
Kondor+'s open, integrated architecture also supports clear, accurate reporting.
LOWEST TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP
Kondor+ offers unrivalled benefits in terms of TCO and cost-per-trade economics
This analysis is supported by the global financial services consultancy Oliver Wyman, who stated: "Kondor+ has lower TCO than its competitors as it requires less initial implementation and less user-managed on-going maintenance."
RELIABILITY AND SCALABILITY
The modules run in the Solaris operating environment on SPARC and are now also available on Linux with X86. Based on an event-driven, multi-tier architecture, it also incorporates the Microsoft Sequel Server database. This component-based architecture reduces TCO and provides excellent resilience, allowing the system to continue operation even if individual components fail. The modules can also be installed in a cluster environment for even higher availability.
REAL-TIME, 'TICK BY TICK' POSITIONS AND EVENT-DRIVEN PROCESSING
All blotters and position screens are available in a real-time environment, allowing users an up to the second view of trading activities and positions. In the back office, payments and accounting entries are also generated in real-time, allowing a true straight-through-processing set-up.
SIMPLE, CUSTOMISED WORKFLOWS
User defined business rules allow the system to be customised to match back-office processes. The system workflow is configured using user-friendly screens, enabling simple reconfiguration to reflect changing business requirements. This can be done without the involvement of development staff.
